Hello folks interested in Mendocino Coast Transition Towns,

We have set-up a listserv (on-line discussion group) on MCN.org. Thank you very much MCN.org for generously hosting the listserv for our new community-effort!

If you'd like to be part of our organizing discussion, dealing with getting Mendocino Coast Transition Towns off the ground, we invite you to join this new list. We will discuss how to engage a broad cross-section of the community, how to bring together many different related efforts that have preceded us and that proceed in parallel to us, and how to inspire more people to get involved. We will also discuss local projects like a time-bank, an alternative currency, more local farms, a local energy company, and the like. Additionally included will be notices about upcoming local events relevant to Transition Towns, such as "potlucks for a purpose" where we network with others working on the transition.

To subscribe to this new list, first direct your browser to:
www.mcn.org/listpages/subscribe.php

Enter your email address in the white space box at the top of the three-layer rectangle. Then use your cursor to choose Mendocino Coast Transition Towns from the list (ninth from the bottom of a long list). Then click on the button that says "Join this list." A page will then appear indicating that you have "successfully subscribed" to the list. You will then receive a confirmation email to which you must respond by clicking "reply" via your email program. When you've replied, you will get a final confirmation email that you are now subscribed to the list. That completes the subscription process.

Note that this list is moderated in order to block spam. As your loyal moderator, I will only approve for posting those messages that are related to Mendocino Coast Transition Towns. Advertisements for products and services will not be approved. Note also that you can elect to receive these messages in "digest mode." This allows you to get only one message a day, rather than a series of messages during the day. You can switch to digest mode when you confirm your subscription request. Or if you wish to do it later, after you have already subscribed, you will need to email listmanager@mcn.org or call 707-937-1444.
